Rachel's NHL is in remission and she is living happily with her two children and supportive partner

'I was told 5 days before Christmas that I might have cancer, but the doctors were not sure which type. Two days after Christmas I had a biopsy, which showed that I had non-Hodgkin's mediastinal B cell lymphoma. I was only 20 years old!

'I had chemotherapy and an operation followed by radiotherapy. I was then told that I was in remission. But there was one cloud on the horizon. The doctors told me it was unlikely that I would be able to have children. I was so upset that I cried for weeks.

'Then I met this great guy and we started dating. After 4 short weeks, we moved in together. The following year, I was told that was pregnant. I slept through most of the pregnancy and, on the 28th October 2002, I had a 7 pounds 8 ounces baby boy. And he was 100% healthy!

'Now, almost 3 years later, I have a little girl, too. She was born weighing 9 pounds 6 ounces. I would do anything not to lose my kids.

'I hope you like hearing about my story, as I love reading about all of yours.'
